Mr. Woods' focus is higher education and nonprofit law.  He has broad experience advising colleges and universities and has served as a senior administrator in an academic medical center.  He has handled a broad spectrum of legal matters, including employment, contracts, tax-exempt bond projects, investigations, risk management, faculty issues, governance, development of university policies, student discipline, student records, campus safety, regulatory matters, medical malpractice, health law issues, and overseeing major hospital transactions.

As an experienced senior university administrator and a former CEO of a tax-exempt nonprofit organization, Mr. Woods understands the unique management issues facing administrators and can assist management in resolving legal problems in a manner that is mission-related and makes good business sense.

Mr. Woods has been an active member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) since 1973.  He has spoken at many NACUA conferences, written articles for NACUA publications, and served as Treasurer and a member of its board of directors.  In 2009, Mr. Woods received the Distinguished Service Award for his contributions to NACUA and the practice of higher education law.
